Born and raised in Garden City, Dr. Michelle A. Callahan has chosen to follow in her father's foot steps. A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Dr. Callahan attended The College of the Holy Cross where she graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Chemistry. She went on to achieve her DDS at The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She continued her education at Stony Brook University Hospital where she was Chief Resident. As Chief Resident, Dr. Callahan worked in all aspects of general dentistry with a focus on full mouth rehabilitation.
While at the University at Buffalo, Dr. Callahan was awarded the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Dental Student Award for her work in implant restorations. Additionally, Dr. Callahan served as the American Student Dental Association District 2 Legislative Liaison. She was awarded the Legislative Liaison of the Year Award for her leadership efforts lobbying in Albany and Washington, DC to improve access to dental healthcare.
Dr. Callahan is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry.
In addition to working at Callahan Family Dentistry, Dr. Callahan serves as a Captain in the US Army Reserves.
In her free time, Dr. Callahan enjoys running marathons and spending time with her husband Rusmir, daughters Clara and Maeve, and their shepherd-husky mix named Bill.
